Philip Atkinson the principal of "Property Surveyors France" has been involved in the construction industry all his working life. He therefore has over 40 years experience. All surveys are undertaken by him personally, they are not subcontracted to other unqualified surveyors. QualificationsBSc (Hons) - Bachelor of science honours degree in Building Surveying. Principal areas of study – Building pathology, Design and renovation, cost & quantities, management of construction projects. Dip Arch Con – Post graduate Diploma in Architectural conservation He has 8 years of experience in France and surveyed hundreds of properties. He is a professional member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having passed the Building Surveyors “Assessment of Professional competence” and is qualified to use the alternative designation "Chartered Building Surveyor". Only members of the Building Surveying Faculty who have an approved science degree/diploma, and have studied the core areas for a minimum of 2 years and passed the final "APC" may use this legally protected designation. Other Chartered Surveyors are free to join the faculty but this does not of course mean that they are qualified to survey buildings. Philip Atkinson is also a fellow of the "Association of Building Engineers" Most of the members of this professional body are involved in compliance with building regulations and the more technical aspects of construction and building performance.
